We are writing from the Literature Translation Institute of Korea (LTI Korea). LTI Korea is a public institution under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea, dedicated to promoting Korean literature abroad through translation and publication support, education, and international exchange.
We would like to share an exciting opportunity for aspiring translators interested in translating Korean literature, and to kindly request your support in spreading the word.
LTI Korea is currently accepting applications for the 2026 Workshop for Aspiring Translators, an intensive program designed to discover and nurture emerging Korean literary translators in languages not covered by our Translation Academy. This year's program includes Italian, Turkish, and Vietnamese language tracks.
We would be most grateful if you could share this opportunity through your institution's website, newsletter, social media, your own network, or any other relevant channels — and encourage any students or colleagues who may be interested to apply.

■ Workshop Overview
- Program: 2026 Workshop for Aspiring Translators
- Organizer: Literature Translation Institute of Korea (LTI Korea)
- Target Languages: Italian, Turkish, Vietnamese
- Eligibility: Aspiring translators with an interest in Korean literature and no prior published Korean literary translations (open to all nationalities, regardless of educational background or country of residence)
- Duration: 13–31 July 2026 (3 weeks total)
· Week 1: Online workshop
· Weeks 2–3: In-person workshop (Seoul, Korea)
- Key Activities: Translation practice sessions, lectures, meeting with Korean authors, cultural field trip
- Support provided: Airfare, accommodation, and meal allowance (for eligible participants)
- Application Deadline: 30 April 2026, 23:59 (KST)
