This year, the International Conference of the SNU Contemporary Korean Studies Research Team will once again be held at the Asia Center, Seoul National University, on August 21–22. The full conference program will be announced shortly.
Ahead of the conference, the Global Hallyu Team and the Center for Hallyu Studies will jointly host the following Doctoral Workshop on Hallyu Studies.
The workshop is designed to provide PhD students working on Hallyu-related dissertations with an opportunity to receive expert feedback from scholars gathering in Seoul for the conference. It will also offer a valuable occasion to network with fellow doctoral students in Korean Studies and Hallyu Studies, followed by two full days of intensive academic exchange at the international conference.
Korean students are also welcome to apply, and we plan to continue the workshop next year. For this year, we warmly encourage students to attend the workshop and join the discussions.
A separate doctoral workshop organized by the Political Economy Team will also take place on August 20. We hope many PhD students in Korean Studies will take advantage of these opportunities.
Date & Time: August 20, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM
Each session will consist of 60-minute presentations and discussions, with breaks scheduled throughout the day.
