About the Talk
Mr. Dai Kaneda will share his personal experiences as a Zainichi Korean in Japan. He will discuss the challenges of establishing a life in a new country, instances of racial discrimination, and the social dynamics of living as a foreigner in Japan. The presentation will conclude by examining the evolving perceptions of Korea within Japanese society and the ongoing challenges faced by Zainichi Koreans, proposing measures to improve the lives of ethnic minorities in Japan.
Speaker Bio
Mr. Kaneda graduated from Keio University's Faculty of Letters and began his career with the Nishi Nippon Newspaper in 2006. He has served in various capacities, including reporter at the Kumamoto Headquarters and the Orio Bureau in Kitakyūshū. In 2020, he spent a few years as his company's international correspondent at the Busan Daily in South Korea. Since August 2023, he has held the position of Chief at the Nishi Nippon Newspaper Ōmuta Branch.
